Our Vision
Robbie Gale and Gavin O’Connor are the compassionate and innovative leaders of our dynamic group of companies which includes quarry, asphalt and roading divisions.
The clear vision is to be a ‘full service’ civil construction company which delivers high-quality outcomes for it’s clients and it’s people.
Gavin joined the company mid 2022 as chief executive bringing with him a wealth of experience in management positions which has brought a new level of professionalism to the business.
An exciting new era of the business is underway with Gavin and wife Katie O’Connor becoming directors and co-owners with Robbie and Michelle Gale in late 2023.
The clear purpose is about making a meaningful difference across Te Matau a Māui, the East Coast and central North Island.
OUR PEOPLE, OUR COMMUNITY
We work hard to ensure our decision-making benefits our local community and our practices and processes reflect this. Our company values employing family members, reinforcing community ties and a supportive work environment. Their shared dedication enhances team dynamics, contributing to our company vision. Their experience and skills strengthen our service quality, reflecting the teamwork and loyalty they bring to our organisation.
Manaakitanga (showing respect, generosity and care) is our driving force. We’re passionately committed to caring for our workers, their whānau and our local communities which is reflected in our company name “Tūpore” which means “to care for”. We include Māori values, perspectives and beliefs in our company culture and feel proud of the natural use of Te Reo in our meetings and day to day business which is supported by our 80% Māori workforce. We take pride in our commitment to diversity and inclusion and understand the importance of respecting the unique needs, perspectives and potential of our workforce.
Social Impact
Profit share and the George Foundation
Each year we take a portion of our company profit and distribute it across the whole team at Christmas time. This reward scheme allows our employees to know that their hard mahi is contributing to the success of the company which benefits themselves, their whānau, workmates and community.
The George Foundation Charitable Trust is funded 100% by the Tūpore Group with 10% of company profits being donated to the Trust. The Trust uses this funding to support those in the community who need help the most.
